ÎçÒ¹É̵ê is currently seeking to hire a full-time Groundskeeper. This position is responsible for assisting in the upkeep of the university grounds
Responsibilities include:
Grounds
- Pick up trash and litter from all campus property.
- Empty outside trash receptables and dumpsters and replace trashcan liners.
- Responsible for assisting with mowing, trimming, edging, planting, and fertilizing as necessary.
- Help maintain equipment.
Professionalism
- Maintaining a professional image.
- Keeping the work environment neat and orderly.
- Maintaining a safe environment through adherence to all safety procedures.
Teamwork
- Work as a team player, supporting and assisting other employees.
- Identify and participate in resolution of departmental/institutional problems with continuous quality improvement as a goal.
- Enhance team effectiveness through dependability.
Customer Relations
- Make customers feel welcome and respected as individuals, treating them with courtesy and dignity.
- Exhibit appropriate behavior in customer areas.
Performing other related duties as assigned or requested.
Position Qualifications include:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required. Related experience may be accepted in lieu of diploma.
- 4-12 months experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to read, write, and understand the English language
- Ability to interact courteously with faculty, staff, students, and guests
- Ability to work well with other employees
- Possess or be able to acquire proficiency in the operation of grounds maintenance equipment
- Must be flexible in work schedule.
Physical Demands
- Considerable physical effort is required. Must be able to stand and/or walk 90% of an 8-hour shift and lift up to 75 pounds.
- Visual and hearing acuity to perform job-related functions.
- Workflow is not continuous, concentration is frequently but not constantly required.
Working Conditions
- Work may be performed under disagreeable working conditions (exposure to cold, heat, noise, oil, water, dirt, and etc.)
Organizational Data
- This is a non-exempt position. This position does not supervise other staff.
